An explanation of our philosophy to quarantine may be of interest. The thought of quarantine will be traumatic, if not positively frightening. Rather than show you a host of pictures of the premises which will obviously look attractive it will give you more confidence it I briefly outline our philosophy towards quarantine. Caring for animals is a personal thing and although this cattery looks very attractive, and the quality of the units exceeds the Ministry specification it is the degree of care and the affection with which it is given which will ensure your cat enjoys quarantine.
We believe we must ensure the cats are happy. We encourage them to enjoy this period in their lives. At the same time we never lose sight of the fact that they have a relationship with you, as part of the family. They are here on trust. We must never do anything to upset that relationship. It would be a betrayal of trust. That we succeed is evidenced by the fact that when they return home they carry on as if they had never been away. There are no changes in behaviour, no emotional or psychological hangups and no health problems as a result of quarantine.
I expect you to be sceptical at this stage, everyone is.
The units are decorated to be sympathetic to the animals, fully heated throughout (not pads or lamps) with comfortable fur fabric bedding which is changed as frequently as necessary and never allowed to remain wet or soiled. We provide toys, covered litter boxes or trays, scratching posts or pads, whichever they prefer. And as much attention as it takes to ensure each and every animal is happy, a high standard of hygiene to ensure their health is not compromised together with a very high standard of health care.
Attention to the details specific to each can convinces them that they are being cared for with affection and this is really kitty camp, "don't know what this quarantine thing is that mum was so afraid of"!
